Your FIX logs stay on your computer
FIX Parser runs in your web browser. Logs you paste or open are read and displayed on your own machine. We never receive them unless you deliberately send them with one of the three actions listed below.
FIX Parser (fixparser.targetcompid.com) processes FIX logs entirely in the browser. Log contents are not sent to the service. Data leaves the browser only when the user explicitly: 1. creates a share link, which is encrypted in the browser before upload; the decryption key stays in the link and is never sent to the server; 2. sends an error report, which includes part of the log that caused the error; 3. sends feedback, which contains only what the user types. Usage analytics (Google Analytics) record which features are used and the size of logs, not their contents. Saved work and custom dictionaries are stored in the user's own browser. Operated by Target Comp ID LLC. More detail is available on request: support@targetcompid.com
Where your data goes
Your logs
Parsing, the timeline, filters, order chains, annotations and anonymizing all happen in your browser.
Saved work
Saved analyses, settings and custom dictionaries are stored in your browser, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Share link
The log is encrypted in your browser before upload. The key is the part of the link after #, which browsers never send to a server, so we store data we cannot read. Anyone you give the full link to can open it. Use Anonymize first if the log names clients.
Error report
If a log fails to parse and you click Send, the report includes the part of the log that caused the error, so we can fix it.
Feedback
Only what you type in the feedback box, and your email if you add it.
Usage counts
Which features are used and how large logs are, for example "parsed 1,284 messages". Not the log's contents. UK and EU visitors are asked first.
Your account
Your name and email, through our sign-in provider Kinde. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see card numbers.
Check it yourself
You don't have to take our word for it. In Chrome or Edge:
- Open FIX Parser, then open Developer Tools (F12) and choose the Network tab.
- Paste a log and click Process.
- Look through the requests. None of them carries your log. You'll see analytics events with counts, but no messages.
Privacy policy
Who we are
FIX Parser is operated by Target Comp ID LLC. Questions and requests: support@targetcompid.com.
Your FIX logs
Logs you paste or open are parsed in your browser. They are not sent to us unless you create a share link, send an error report, or send feedback. Saved analyses, settings and custom dictionaries are stored in your browser.
Share links
When you create a share link, the content is encrypted in your browser before it is uploaded. The decryption key is part of the link itself, after the #, and is not sent to our servers. Anyone who has the full link can open the shared content.
Error reports and feedback
If you send an error report or feedback, we receive what the form submits. An error report can include part of the log that caused the error, and either form can include an email address if you enter one.
Accounts and payments
Sign-in is provided by Kinde. When you have an account, the application receives your name, email address, and the plan attached to your account. Subscriptions are billed by Stripe; card details are entered on Stripe's pages and we do not receive them.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how the application is used, such as which features are used and the size of loaded logs. Analytics events do not include log contents. Google Analytics uses cookies. Visitors from the UK and EU are asked before analytics cookies are set.
Service providers
The application relies on Google (Firebase hosting and database, Google Analytics, Google Fonts), Kinde and Stripe, which process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Our hosting provider may record standard request information such as IP addresses.
Deleting your account
Deleting your account from Settings removes your account and clears the saved analyses and settings in the browser you delete it from. It does not remove share links, error reports or feedback already sent; email us if you'd like those removed.
